Volunteer English School ( VES)

Mr. Saing Soenthrith is the founder of VES, and also working for the newspaper company known as the Cambodia daily, as Associate Editor. He had been running the English school with free of charge for the poor community kids since the year of 2000 at his home village in Siem Reap commune , Kandal Stung district , Kandal province. It is about 25 Km south of Phnom Penh. The School had provided English lesson to the surrounding community’s kids over 100 of them. Now, his school had expanded to three services for those kids, English class, computer class and Library room, as last two years, Mr. Rith had reached SCD and SCD main donor Mr. Cormac Creed for help, and we donated him a school building with two rooms, one for library and computer room in which we donated ten sets of computer and books for his library. Nowadays, his school had been very busy with the surrounding students about 100 of them participating his school everyday. Our SCD staffs, from time to time go and see his school and help him and the students  out there.

 

SCD Community Partycipations

Now, we have the 130 kids living in our orphanage. And also we help the surrounding community kids for allowing them to join the class in our place. They take English class and computer classes. We also offer them school materials, book, pens, pencil, and crayons for poor community kids around our place. Now we have 64 community kids in our list, they are living with their poor parents and relatives. SCD, now is  very well known to this community for its helpful services to the community. Our staffs from time to time go and visit their family along with books, pens and clothes for them. We hope that SCD will find the way helping more community kids as much we can.
