In order to broaden the scope of learning for our children, we strongly believe in taking them on various types of field trips away from the orphanage. These include local destinations such as the zoo, waterparks, museums, temples and villages; and farther a field, like the beach at Sihanoukville, the renowned temples of Angkor Wat near Siem Reap, and waterfalls and mountains in the Cambodian countryside.

Through excursions like these, the children can reap huge benefits from experiential learning and the simple joy of wonderment. Field Trips are a highly valued part of our curriculum at SCD; however, with more than 100 children – and growing – the costs can be prohibitive.

How can you help?

We are looking for sponsors for our Field Trips. We will schedule a Field Trip in your honour and send you pictures and/or movies of the children and stories they’ve written for you from the day. What a great way to create some excitement and adventure for the hardworking children here at SCD!
