HIV killed Sao's parents in 2006 making this boy to grow increasingly desperate in his lonely world. Having seen this utter misery, his local authority came and talked to him with heartfelt sympathy. In the end, Sao agreed to come to live in SCD. He is now a happy boy among other children.
Since he came to live in SCD on 1st October 2006, he has been a good kid and a nice friend to other children. He is friendly but he does not talk much.

He has 4 brothers and 3 sisters. When he was living with his parents, he did not have plenty of time to do homework or read his books, and he was usually late to reach school because he had to help his father's work in the farm. Now he has time to study, nice clothes to wear to school and all kinds of materials to study.
On 1st October 2006 his mother brought him here. He has been very helpful and nice to everyone, especially to small kids. And he enjoys playing sports very much.

Raksmey has both parents, two brothers and a sister. They are very poor to help him continue his study to high school and college. He wishes to obtain much good education for his future. Then he can return to support his parents, brothers and sister. So his mother brought him here hoping he would succeed in his future goal.
He came to SCD on 10th July 2007. He is very good at English and computer word processing. He enjoys practicing his English with any foreigners who have come to visit here.

Puthy has three brothers and a sister. His father lost half of his leg to a landmine over a decade ago. It was very difficult for the family to bring food to the table, so Puthy was given a chance to pursue an education and receive proper nutrition and health care.
On 18th July 2007 Puthy's parents brought him to live in SCD. He has been noticed as a nice boy to everyone who lives around him. He has never made any trouble since the day he arrived.

Dun is very pitiful boy whose parents are extremely poor that could never make a proper living for their five sons. Dun is the eldest of all his siblings. He wants to help his parents and brothers but he cannot because he has not had good education yet. He has committed himself firmly to studying.
He arrived at SCD on 20th August 2007. He has made great progress in his studies both at state school and at the orphanage. His English now can be fully understood.

Samit has three brothers and a sister and he is the eldest. His parents are too poor to buy school uniform, books, pens, rulers for him to go to school. His father needed him to help his work in the rice field but he could not force him to do that because Samit was so curious to study. Finally, he has a chance to live in SCD.
On 20th August 2007 Samit arrived here. He has tried his best to study all subjects: English, Khmer, mathematics, physics, computer word-processing, and so on.

Kuyheng is a lovely little girl but unfortunately she could not eat, wear, play, or have her favorite books, pens, bags, etc. like other children else in her village because her parents are not able to afford to buy these for her, and her four brothers and three sisters. She, now, turns cheerful again as this is in her nature.
She came to live in SCD on 21st August 2007. Everyone loves her, for she has been friendly and very helpful. She also likes practicing English with foreigners.

She is the youngest among her five sisters and three brothers. She lived with her extremely poor parents - her father died in 2008; her mother has several illnesses and is so weak to take responsible for the whole family alone. To be grateful to their mother, her elder brothers and sisters have quit school to work as blue-collar workers to help support the family.
On 21st August 2007 she was brought here. She is so friendly and kind to everyone around her. They would be quiet if it is without Zeseny to play with.

Saotin has three brothers and two sisters. At the moment she and one of her sisters are living in SCD. Their parents brought them here on 30th August 2007 because these two kids are the loves of their lives. Her father realized that Saotin's future will not be shining bright unless she has good education.
Since the day she was first at SCD, Saotin has not got any changes in manner or commitment of studying. Moreover, she is still kind and friendly to everyone.
