He has 4 brothers and he is the fourth. Before he was brought here on 1st October 2006, he had lived in a very pity condition under his parents' poor control. His food neither contained enough proteins nor vitamins. Very rare, he ate pork and beef because their prices are so high that his parents could not afford. Since Khem arrived in SCD, he has committed himself to studying and promised to become a wonderful person in the society. He hopes his future will be bright.

Reading stories, drawing and playing football

He lived in a big, unfortunate family. He has 5 brothers and 1 sister. His father was disabled by a landmine, and so his mother took most responsibilities for the whole family. She alone could not earn enough to afford all children to go to school although she tried her best. Since Piset arrived in SCD on 1st October 2006, he has committed himself to studying both inside the orphanage and at state school so as to reach his future goal. He hopes he will have his bright day.

Future Goal : English Teacher

Proeurk has no father, but mother and one sister. His father died when he was so young. Since then his mother became the breadwinner in the family. She alone has found herself very hard to work with her physical strength to support the children. Until now, she is extremely poor and can't afford them either tasty and nutritious meals or good education. Therefore, he was allowed to stay at SCD. Since Proeurk arrived in SCD on 1st October 2006, he has studied very hard. We wish him all the best to reach his future goal.

Future Goal : Nurse

Sampash is the eldest of all her 3 siblings. Her father passed away last year as too poor to treat his disease. Her mother work very hard in the rice field to feed the children but it was not usually successful because the work depends totally on the weather: she will not have much crop yield unless it rains well. She wishes Sampash to have higher education and reach a bright future. On 1st October 2006, she arrived in SCD. She has never worked carelessly with her studies. Her teachers have admired her very often.

Samnang has neither of his parents. He lost them since he was a small child. He has 1 brother and 1 sister, and they all live in SCD, too. Before, they lived with his aunt, but because she has many children and is very poor either, so she couldn't feed or help them to receive good education. She wanted him to have a bright future, and she was so happy when SCD accepted him, his brother and sister. Samnang arrived in SCD on 1st October 2006, he has tried his best to study in order to become a good man in the future.

Sokhom is an orphan with 1 brother and 1 sister. Before, he lived with his aunt but because she has many children and is very poor she couldn't feed or school him. She loves and feels pity on him as her own son but she is unable to change the present fact. Now, she is greatly grateful to SCD director who has accepted him and his siblings. On 1st October 2006, Sokhom and his siblings arrived safely in SCD. He promised that he would study hard to become a good Child in SCD, and so he did.

Practicing English with foreigners and friends, drawing and reading

Her parents died of malaria when she was very young. Then, she came to live with her aunt. The aunt herself was lack of ability to make a proper living for Rathana and her own children. Her aunt was very poor, and that was a definitely difficult task to give her enough food or offer her higher education. Finally, Rathana was allowed to stay in SCD on 1st October 2006. Since Rathana arrived in SCD, she has been a nice girl who usually helps other little girls that share the room with her.

Future Goal : Dentist

Sreylak's parents got divorced a couple of years ago. She lived with her mother, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. As there were so many children living together, her mother realized that there is only one place where her children can gain good education from-that is at an orphanage. Finally, she found SCD and sent Sreyleak here on 1st October 2006. Since the beginning, Sreyleak has studied hard in all classes-English, Khmer and computer. She strongly hopes that she can change her present day to a bright one.

SreyNich has none of parents, but one brother. Her parents passed away 5 years ago because of chronicle diseases. Then, she came to live with her grandparents. In the meantime, they were too old to take care of her, so they brought her to stay and study in SCD on 1st October 2006. SreyNich has been marked as a nice Child who never gives other children any trouble at all since she has arrived. She is also a nice student in her English and Khmer classes. All teachers admire and wish her to have a bright future.

Future Goal : Pilot

Makara is one of thousands unfortunate boys in Cambodia. His parents are illiterate and so they work with their physical strength for little money to provide basic needs to every child. He has 4 sisters. His parents want him to be well-educated so that he can work with his mental strength. Since Makara arrived in SCD on 1st October 2006, he has studied hard to fulfill his own wish as well as his parents'. He strongly hopes that one day his life will arrive in a bright world.
